The Market will go on this season, with your help!
Dear Market Go-ers and Friends,
We are proud to say that the Leavenworth Community Farmers Market (LCFM) will proceed as scheduled this season! While the market will look different, we are working hard to create a safe environment for you to access the healthy and local goods you need.
Today, we are asking for your financial support so that we can continue to provide, despite these difficult circumstances.
As you may know…
Your local Market supports 32 vendors including 17 farms and producers and serves hundreds of customers every week.
The Market makes it convenient for families to eat well and shop local, providing nutritious and delicious food for the entire community.
We accept multiple forms of Food Assistance Stipends, such as SNAP/EBT,WIC, and Senior Services as payment at the market, opening up this critical resource to those most in need.
While most years we make the Market an engaging family event with entertainment and space to gather, our focus this year is simplified: get the food to the people, safely. This goal will require additional staffing, new materials and costs, such as hand sanitizer, hand wash stations, additional signage, PPE for staff and customers, and a change in venue.
LCFM is largely funded by business donations. Unfortunately, due to COVID19, many restaurants, bars, hotels and wineries that donated generously in the past have been closed for nearly two months. Furthermore, our largest fundraising events for the season have or will be cancelled or modified.
We are the Leavenworth Community Farmers Market, and this is our time to step up and show our strength as a community. A $15, $20, or $25 donation will go a long way to provide an essential service for you and your community. We can do this!
